Nicole Benallick (nee Reichelt), aged 70, passed away in the presence of her devoted husband Jack, family and friends on October 17th, 2019 at Hospice Wellington, after a two-year courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ghent, Belgium she came to Canada through the Port of Churchill in Manitoba with her parents Walter and Emilie Reichelt in 1950. Nicole grew up in Guelph where she met and married her love Jack 51 years ago. Nicole is survived by her husband Jack and their three children Paul (Camille Hollett-French), Peter, Alison (Jonathan Van Hoffen). She was the loving grandmother of Zachary, Tristen, Ashlyn and Micah. Nicole is survived by her siblings Maria Smit (Bill) and Will Reichelt and Jack’s family, sisters Gloria O’Dell, Judy Lamont (Rick), Jill Benallick (Rob), brother Gary, sister-in law Linda (Jim) and extended loving family. Nicole was an artist, devoting much of her time to quilting and embroidery. Her life revolved around her family. One of her greatest realized dreams was having them with her as much as possible. She was a collector of strays, often finding both animals and people in need of love. She found great strength in her faith and has been a member of St. Joseph’s Parish for many years. Family and friends were invited to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus Chapel, 280 St. David St. South on Monday October 21st, 2019 for prayers at 6:30pm and visitation from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday October 22nd, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 760 St. David St. North, Fergus. In lieu of flowers, Nicole’s loved ones are invited to make donations to The Juravinski Cancer Foundation, Groves Hospital Foundation or Hospice Wellington.
