Mrs. Mildred Lucilla (Armstrong) Charters of Harriston, at Caressant Care, Harriston on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in her 96th year. Wife of the late Cecil Charters. Mother of Roy Charters of Harriston, and Bruce Charters and Linda Drouin of Waterloo. Grandmother of Lisa and Mark Leslie of Harriston, Teresa and Paul Armstrong of Drayton, Derek and Myca Charters of Listowel, Chantal Drouin-Charters and Wojtek Sluszkiewicz of Waterloo, and Daniel Drouin-Charters and Meghan Burke of Fergus. Great-grandmother of Zachary Leslie and Catana Sicilia, Cole Leslie and Mistaya Langridge, Cassandra Leslie, Madison Armstrong, Brett Armstrong, Zoe Charters, Lukas Sluszkiewicz, Lia Sluszkiewicz, and Andrzej Sluszkiewicz, and great-great-grandmother of Blaire Leslie. Sister of Mary Stoddart of Harriston. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Donna Charters, and by her sisters Isabel Williamson, and Margaret Armstrong. Mildred lived in the Harriston and Minto community all of her life. She enjoyed gardening and spending time in her kitchen preparing anything from play dough to chocolate pies. She also enjoyed participating in the Fall Fair and the Horticultural Society events. Most of all she cherished her time spent with her family and neighbours. No matter how long or short a visit was, she always enjoyed company. Our family is very grateful to the staff of Caressant Care Nursing Home, Harriston, who cared for her in her final years. Friends called at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17th at 11:00am. Rev. Kathy Morden officiating.
