Dear Editor:
Our present culture confuses me so much and I have so many questions …
Why are crisis climate change promoters freaking out about a warmer Earth? Haven’t people survived much hotter climates before, like in the middle ages? Did people in the middle ages burn too many carbon containing trees to cause it to be hotter? Why did it get cooler in the following mini-ice age? How did life survive the ice ages?
Coal in West Virginia had tropical plants in it, but there are no tropical plants in West Virginia now, so how did that happen? Aren’t we still in the melting period of an ice age cycle? Why are they worried about dying out in the first place? Won’t evolution just happen all over again? Aren’t living things just animated minerals? Dust to dust, right?
There is no intelligent design behind life according to the learned of the world, so it really doesn’t matter what happens to the climate, right?
They say we have no eternal purpose so why worry about the climate at all? Aren’t we just evolved animals developed by chance (and how did that happen?) in a mud hole through endless generations of life and death and life and death? So many questions … so confusing a culture we live in.
