Voters will soon head to the polls in the 43rd election of Canada’s parliament.
Over the coming weeks our publication will be covering the numerous candidate nights and events within the local ridings of Wellington-Halton Hills and Perth-Wellington.
Our news team has put together a series of questions for candidates that we will feature the weeks of Sept. 26, Oct. 3 and 10.
Best efforts were made to pick questions of interest to these ridings and hopefully help candidates differentiate their platforms.
One thing we have noted this election is the public’s reluctance to automatically buy into promises of tax cuts.
If voters have learned anything since that ideological bent took form in the 1980s, it is that services do cost money. Governments can’t pay their bills without revenue.
Watch closely, listen intently and cast a vote by Oct. 21.
