Born in the village of Fergus, daughter to John and Laura Paton; growing up in her family home where the Shand Dam is today, she was one of six children and twin to Evelyn. March 1, 1952 she married Wilfred (Buster) Burns Clark and together they raised four children. Sadly she was predeceased by our father June 2019; her son Ronald (Ronnie) Martin in 1955 and first husband Albert (Bert) Martin. Raising a family of her own within the farming community of Belwood, she will be remembered as a hard working farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, seamstress, and cook. She had a flare of perfection in everything that she set out to do. Always willingly participating in community functions; which has become a core value that has been passed on to us her children; we will continue to keep the legacy of community and family alive in our own families. It seems very fitting that our parents met at a local dance function. Mom and dad loved to dance and they were a beautiful couple together on the dance floor. In her 92nd year, having been married 67 years, her spirit departed to be at home with the Lord; leaving behind two sons Larry (Karen) and Randy (Julia) and their daughter Debbie (Don Speers). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Great gratitude is extended to staff at Heritage River and Wellington Terrace for the compassionate care given to our Mom. As well, we give thanks to Dr. John Stickney. A memorial service will be held at the Graham Giddy Funeral home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus, on Monday September 16th, 2019 at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon. Donations are being accepted for: Alzheimer Society Of Canada – Societe Alzheimer Du Canada.
