Members of Superstars Baton Club compete at nationals

Superstars national champions – Eleven members of the Superstars Baton Club competed in Markham at the Annual CNBTA National Championships June 28-30.

Mackenzie Fraser, 12, of Arthur received one 3rd and one 4th place finish and returned home the 2019 Int National Strut and 2baton Champion. Alyssa George, 15, of Fergus received three 2nd, one 3rd and one 4th place finish. Jamie Green, 9, of Arthur received four 2nd and two 3rd place finishes. Amelia Green, 5, of Arthur received a 1st place finish and returned home the 2019 Novice National Solo Champion and the Prim Novice Miss Majorette of Canada. Skylar Irwin, 17, of Arthur returned home the Beginner National 2Baton Champion. Paige Johnston, 11 of Arthur received one 2nd, one 3rd and one 4th place finish.

Shayla Logel, 14, of Elora received two 3rd, one 6th and one 8th place finish. Chelsea McFadden, 11 of Fergus received four 3rd place finishes and returned home the Novice National Solo Champion. Jayda Saunders, 10, of Fergus received one 1st, three 2nd and returned home the Beginner National Solo Champion and the Beginner Juv Miss Majorette of Canada. Lainey Saunders, 12 of Fergus received one 1st, one 2nd and one 5th place finish and returned home the Beginner National Solo Champion and the Beginner Preteen Miss Majorette of Canada. Makenzie Worton, 17 of Fergus received two 3rd, one 4th, and one 5th place finish and returned home the Senior Miss Majorette of Canada. The teams “Boogie Shoes” and “Phantom” placed 2nd in their divisions.

The pairs of George and Worton, and Saunders and Saunders, won their divisions and are the National Pairs Champions. The Duet team of Green and Saunders won 2nd for their routine. Several of the SBC athletes were selected to represent Canada in Holland at the 2020 WFNBTA World Championships next April.
