Centre Wellington gets ready for Canada Day

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Once again the Rotary Club of Centre Wellington is sponsoring Elora Dominion Day.

Elora Events

The  firefighter’s breakfast at MacDonald Square runs from 7 to 11am.

Shortly after, from 8 to 11am, the Big Brothers Big Sister of Centre Wellington-sponsored Soap Box Derby will take over David and Geddes Streets.

At 11am the Dominion Day Parade will cap off the downtown Elora events for July 1.

Bissell Park Events

Lunch will then be offered at Bissell Park from noon to 1:30pm, with a free hot dog and beverage served by the Elora Lions Club.

There will be live music, kids activities and the  Diamond in the Ruff dog agility show and Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dancing.

Finally, at 1:30pm, get set for the Centre Wellington Rotary duck race.

 

The Rotary Club of Fergus Elora is sponsoring a family picnic outside of the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus for Canada Day.

 

Fergus Events

Over at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, the Fergus Canada Day Family  Picnic, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fergus Elora, will offer musical  entertainment, free face painting, a kiddie midway, free cake, lots of food, children’s contests and more from 6 to 10pm.

There will be a special presentation by The Fergus Pipe Band at 8pm.

Belwood

The Belwood Lake Cottagers Association is hosting the 10th annual Canada Day Flotilla, starting at the dam on June 30 at noon. The Wellington County OPP Marine Unit has been invited to marshal again this year.
