Torch Run for Special Olympics - The Guelph Police Service, Wellington County OPP, University of Guelph and The Co-operators teamed up on June 5 to support Special Olympics Ontario through the annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. With over 50 runners from Guelph and the surrounding area, the group made their way from Johnston Green at the University of Guelph to The Co-operators building, where The Co-operators presented a cheque for a donation of $10,000 to Special Olympics Ontario. The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run is a provincial fundraising program that benefits over 23,000 Special Olympics Ontario athletes. Special Olympics helps pay for various expenses including travel, accommodations, meals and athlete training.
