New X-ray machine at Louise Marshall Hospital

MOUNT FOREST – A new digital X-ray machine, funded entirely by Gary and Linda Hall on behalf of the Estate of the Thomas Family, is fully operational at Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH).

“This state-of-the-art technology improves the quality of X-ray images and lowers radiation doses, while allowing the technologist to focus on the comfort and safety of the patient,” said Kaush Patel, manager of diagnostic imaging at North Wellington Health Care (NWHC).

“The advanced technology of this equipment allows for auto positioning, making the exam quicker, safer and allows for better ergonomics for the technologist.”

Stephen Street, president and CEO of NWHC, said upgrading equipment helps better serve the community.

Gary and Linda Hall were able to make the wishes of three family members come true by investing close to $500,000 for the digital X-ray machine.

In honour of their contributions, the family will receive a plaque in their name.

Hospital equipment costs are funded through donations to the hospital foundation from the community.

“The hospital’s equipment and technology needs today are growing significantly,” stated Rick Sinnamon, LMH foundation board president.

“It is only through the generosity of our donors that we can ensure both patients and staff have access to the very best.”
