Robert Neil Staples, of Mount Forest and formerly of Monck, passed away at Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Gladys Staples (nee Tweedle). Loving father of Lorne Staples and his wife Dianne of Meaford, Earl Staples and his wife Jo-Anne of Waterloo, Norm Staples and his wife Ruth Anne of Arthur, Lois and her husband Glenn Shaw of Guelph, and Linda and her husband Doug Parsons of Arthur Township. Cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Mae Gibson of Stoney Creek. Predeceased by his sisters Helen McBride, Violet Taylor, Dorothy Roseman, June Bryson, and his brother Vernon Staples. A funeral service celebrating Robert’s life was held at the Faith Baptist Church, 485 King Street East, Mount Forest, on Monday, May 13th at 1:00pm, with visitation held at the church prior to the service from 11:00am – 12:45pm. Interment at Mount Forest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or the Monck Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
