Dear Editor:
We are grade 2 and 3 students from Harris Mill Public School. Twice our classes went to Valentino Park in Rockwood to clean up litter and we would like to tell people a few things.
At the park, we found many things that should not be there: a hockey puck, a camping chair, a large plastic mat and many pop cans. We also found lots of animal waste, old newspapers and plastic wrappers. We think it’s important to pick up litter because it’s good for the environment. Also, people can trip and hurt themselves. Animals can be hurt or choke or lose their habitat.
People need to know that we have only one Earth. Treat it nicely or everything will be gone!
