ERIN – A musical celebration of life will be held for Ofer Dagan, a Hillsburgh musician and artist who passed away in January at the age of 64.
The event will be on May 19, from 2 to 6pm, at the Busholme Inn on Main Street in Erin. There will be live music featuring the Bearskins, the Norma & Jerry Duet, Dying Baby Eagle and the Free Agents Band.
Dagan was a bass player and started the Free Agents in 1999 with Jerry Staples, developing a reputation on the blues scene.
He was also a master woodworker, displaying his work at galleries and handcrafting his own guitar.
He was known for the large hand sculpture in front of his studio on Trafalgar Road, as well as the Open Mind sculpture in the Town of Erin council chamber.
He also created the intricate frame for a historical display in the chamber of past reeves and mayors.
