CLIFFORD – Jazmine Palmer is an active soon-to-be six-year-old who loves learning all about life from her grandmother Trish Palmer and grandfather Vic Palmer of Clifford.
She has also learned about cancer and is familiar with hair loss, as her grandmother lost her hair during chemotherapy.
The youngster decided she would like to have her long locks cut off to donate for wigs for children who have suffered hair loss.
Her family found a Canadian non-profit group, Wigs for Kids (http://wigsforkids.ca) and the appointment was set for April 9.
Jazmine arrived at Karen’s Hair Hut in the Lakelet. Karen MacEwen set Jazmine in the chair, sectioned her hair in four pieces, used elastics to hold them in place, spritzed on the water and began to snip.
“It has taken a while for Jazmine to get used to having short hair, but she is finding that it is a lot easier to take care of by herself,” said Trish Palmer.
“Grandma Trish and Grandpa Vic are very proud of her for allowing her hair to be cut and donated.”
