BRUCEDALE – Guelph-Eramosa Township council has approved the purchase of a new tandem truck for snow plowing and dump truck duty at a cost of $273,406 plus tax, slightly higher than the $270,000 in the budget.
The township may get $25,000 to $35,000 at auction for the 13-year-old truck it is replacing, said public works director Harry Niemi.
The new truck will be supplied by B&I Complete Truck Centre, the only company to submit a bid. A reserve fund will be used for the purchase.
