ACTON – Local liberals will be turning out on March 31 to confirm the Wellington-Halton Hills candidate for the upcoming federal election.
Liberal Association members will convene at the Acton Arena as Dr. Lesley Barron, a surgeon at the Georgetown Hospital, is acclaimed to carry the party message.
Barron’s passion to make a political difference is fueled by her medical experience.
“In my practice, I see first hand that people’s health and welfare is influenced by government policy.”
“I am standing up for Liberal policies that promote a clean environment; for measures that help young families and seniors secure appropriate housing and for economic stimulants for business and a vibrant labour force. These are key determinants of health in our communities,” said Barron.
Adam van Koeverden, Milton Liberal candidate and Canadian Olympian, will kick off the Sunday afternoon meeting and speak to his own commitment to the political cause. Van Koeverden recently hosted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Milton at a Town Hall meeting attended by hundreds of local residents.
Candidate selection meetings are being conducted across the country as all political parties prepare their policies and teams to present to voters in October. The Wellington-Halton Hills riding includes Georgetown, Acton, Erin, Fergus, Elora, Puslinch and surrounding rural areas.
