GUELPH – Guelph and Wellington residents are invited to attend a free community conversation on March 19 from 6 to 8pm at the YMCA-YWCA Guelph.
“Let’s Talk About Food” will feature top local chefs and food experts, including: Shea Robinson, executive chef at Neighbourhood Group of Companies (Borealis, Miijidaa, Park Grocery and The Wooly); Jeff Crump, executive at Pearle Hospitality, director of Bread Bar and author of Earth to Table Every Day; Pam Fanjoy, owner and executive chef of FanJoy Restaurant and Bar and winner of Chopped Canada; and Mike von Massow, associate professor of food, agricultural and resource economics at the University of Guelph.
Panelists will share tips and tricks on their approach to food, the fundamentals of healthy, nutritious eating and how they manage food waste. The event will also feature a draw participants can enter to win a gift basket and $50 restaurant gift cards.
Government-issued photo ID is required to access the YMCA-YWCA.

Also in attendance will be city and county staff to discuss their joint Our Food Future Smart Cities initiative. This vision sets ambitious targets to increase access to affordable nutritious food by 50 per cent, create 50 new opportunities for circular business and collaborations, and increase circular economic revenue by 50%.
