GUELPH – Music Weekends in Downtown Guelph and Kaleidoscope Music are presenting a performance by Oh Susanna on March 3 at 3pm.
The show will take place at Royal Electric Bar & Public Eatery, 52 Macdonell St. in Guelph.
Opening the show will be Guelph’s Wicked Weather
Pay-what-you-can donations at the door will go towards paying the performers.
Oh Susanna has been performing since 1996, releasing eight-critically acclaimed albums. She received a Genie Award for Best Original Song and a Canadian Folk Music Award for English Songwriter of the Year.
She has also been nominated for two Juno Awards, each for Best Roots and Traditional Album of the Year, and two Canadian Folk Music Awards for Best Solo Performer and for Best Contemporary Singer of the Year.
Her latest release, A Girl in Teen City, is an album of songs set in 1980 Vancouver, starring a teenage punk girl named Suzie. It has earned three Canadian Folk Music Award nominations: English Songwriter of the Year, Contemporary Singer of the Year and Producer of the Year.
Oh Suzanna’s songs often tell stories of troubled souls who rebel against their circumstances to attain a quiet dignity.
