ERIN – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites landowners to attend the first Caring for Your Land and Water workshop of 2019.
The workshop will be held on Feb. 9 from 1 to 4pm at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, 4452 Winston Churchill Blvd., Halton Hills.
Participants will learn from CVC’s stewardship specialists about wildlife, protecting wells, healthy habitats and project funding.
“This workshop is a great opportunity for landowners to learn about what steps they can take to manage the natural areas on their property,” said Mike Puddister, deputy CAO and director of watershed transformation at CVC.
“We provide landowners with tools and information to make improvements on their land.”
Participants attending the workshop become eligible to apply for CVC’s Landowner Action Fund.
The fund provides up to 100 per cent financing for landowners looking to carry out environmental projects on their property.
Eligible projects include well upgrades, tree planting, invasive plant control and more.
Register by Feb. 4 at www.cvc.ca/events. For more details call 1-800-668-5557.
Preference will be given to landowners owning one acre or more of rural property in the Credit River Watershed.
Workshops are free thanks to funding from CVC’s regional and municipal partners.
