Crime Stoppers board

Dear Editor:

January is Crime Stoppers Month and as we celebrate, Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW) is seeking to fill positions on the board of directors. This working board is required to oversee the operation of CSGW.

Being on a working board of directors gives you the opportunity to have hands-on experience in fundraising and networking. Each member of the board brings their own unique skills and abilities to the table, which not only allows them to strengthen our program, but to give them the satisfaction of giving back to their community. They can reflect their community’s needs and enhance the reach of the program.

Members of the board attend monthly board meetings in Centre Wellington, participate in subcommittees for fundraisers and awareness events, and share the Crime Stoppers message to their own network of friends, family and associates. Our volunteers enjoy their time at Crime Stoppers, and we have members who have been active with the board for as long as 14 years!

The board is a collection of motivated and enthusiastic members of the public, who want to contribute to making our community safe. Board members strongly believe in the Crime Stoppers concept of being a safe and anonymous method of report crime. They also understand it is their responsibility to ensure there are sufficient funds to pay tipsters, and that the program is sound.

Interested applicants must request an application at csgw.tips.
