Neighbourwoods hosts next Tree Talk

ELORA – The Mennonite Central Committee: Reforesting for Change and Hope is the topic of the next Neighbourwoods Tree Talk.

In Haiti, the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is working with local communities and partners to plant millions of trees.

MCC started reforestation work in Haiti in 1980.

Over the last five years, the committee has planted 2,368,964 trees, including 393,933 fruit trees.

Families benefit from nutritious food and the income from sales, and communities enjoy healthier ecosystems.

Fred Redekop, a pastor in the Mennonite Church for 30 years, is the The Tree Talk speaker.

The Tree Talk will take place on Jan. 21 at the Elora Centre for the Arts from 7:30 to 9pm.

The talk is free for Neighbourwoods members and $5 for non-members.
