The Elora Mohawks held their annual awards banquet on Dec. 22 at the Fergus Legion.
The players received their jerseys and championship rings, after winning the Canadian Junior B Lacrosse Championship and the Founders Cup in August.
The following awards were also handed out:
• Best two-way player, Nathan Bolger;
• Best defender, Mason Noble;
• Rookie of the year, O.J. Ristov;
• Most improved player, Jonah White;
• Veterans award, Klayton Hoelscher and Matt Humphrey;
• Regular season MVP, Kurtis Woodland;
• Playoff MVP, Cole Spear and Tyrus Rehanek;
• Most dedicated player, Chris Jolley;
• Annie McDonald Memorial Award, Pat “Wheels” McKenzie;
• Steve Hutchison Memorial Award, Chris Jolley and Kevin Hutchison;
• Jr. B Council Most Valuable Defender, O.J. Ristov;
• Jr. B Council Top Goaltender, Matt Humphrey and Landon Kells.
This year 11 players finished their careers as over-aged players with the Mohawks. Each received a plaque commemorating their time with the team. They are: Klayton Hoelscher, Chris Jolley, Kevin Hutchison, Kurtis Woodland, Matt Humphrey, Cole Spear, Mason Noble, Josh Rex, Jack Francis, A.J. Skirving and Tyrus Rehanek.
