passed away peacefully January 9, 2019, surrounded by the love of her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Ronald – the love of her life and she of his, cherished mother of Andrea (Mike) and Richard (Caroline), loving grandmother of Vanessa, Ryan, and Nate, and step grandmother of Kara (Simon) and Marc (Laura). A scientist trained in bacteriology, Iris had her own lab at British Drug Houses in London, England, and published several scientific papers. She and Ron and their two small children came to Canada in 1957, seeking a brighter future. Not long after arriving, she started her own kindergarten, one of the first in Quebec, eventually leading to her long second career as a primary school teacher. At age 92 she was still sharply current and very much in charge of her own destiny. We welcome family and friends to join us for a short celebration of her wonderful long life at the Fergus Library, Main Branch – 3rd Floor, 190 St. Andrew St. W. on Sunday, January 20, 2:30 to 4:30pm
