Age 48 of Guelph, lost his courageous battle with brain cancer at Hospice Wellington on December 14 with his family by his side. Cherished Daddy of the three best things in his life, Xander, Rhys and Marleigh (at home) and their mother Shelly Lockhart Dolmer. His 3 ‘little turkeys’ will miss his calm demeanour and interest in their everyday lives. Beloved son of Brian (Cheryl) of Puslinch and his mother whom he adored, the late Edna Dolmer (1993). Loving brother and Hero to his sisters Sharon (Steve) Adshade of Puslinch and Susan (Steve) Shackell of Morriston. Uncle/big brother/mentor & biggest cheerleader to his nephews and nieces, Michelle Churchill of Kitchener, Stephen (Hawley) Adshade of Guelph, Stephanie Bouffard of Kitchener, Ryan (Ashley) Adshade of Guelph, Jarrett (Rosca) Adshade of Big Valley, AB & Krysta (Tyler) Garton of Kitchener. Great Uncle Beeg to Connor, Paige, Carson, Libby, Brianna, Hudsyn, Addisyn, Cohen, Everlie, Riley, Kyle, Laine & Bryce. Sadly missed by his Aunts, Brenda (Larry) Ayres, Jude Dolmer, and Uncle Larry (Sandy) Dolmer and his godfather Dave (Sheila) Foltz, his mother in-law Lynn Lockhart and his wonderful cousins and many friends. In addition to losing his mother, he is also predeceased by his sister Kathy Ouderkirk, his nephews and niece, Jody, Kyle & Amanda Ouderkirk (Dec 1995). He will always be remembered by his best friends ‘the brothers’ whom he loved dearly. Your help, love and support meant the world to him as well as to our family. He will be also missed by his wonderful colleagues and students at Sir Issac Brock Public School. His diagnosis of brain cancer in April 2017 rocked his world but he was determined to beat it and fought a hard battle with his family and friends beside him, every step along the way. He loved spending time with his family, going on road trips, exploring Museums and hated damn technology particularly auto-correct, terrible movies and also truly believed that one day the Toronto Maple Leafs would actually win the cup. Brian graduated from GCVI, the University of Waterloo & Western University and loved his job as a teacher at Sir Issac Brock Public School. Our family would like to thank the staff of GGH, floor 4W and to Dr. Yi for their stellar care and compassion towards all of our family and to Hospice Wellington in Guelph for such an outstanding environment and staff. We were all so blessed to have loved and been loved by this wonderful man. We will always remember his wit and beautiful soul. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Wellington, Wheels of Hope (Canadian Cancer Society) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by our family. Cremation has taken place. Please join us for a Celebration of his Life at the Puslinch Community Center, 23 Brock Road South, Morriston on Sunday December 30, 2018 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Arrangements entrusted to Gilchrist Chapel – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph. We invite you to leave your memories and donations online and they will be forwarded to the family.
