Work planned on Middlebrook well

ELORA – Nestlé Waters Canada is advising the community that maintenance work on the Middlebrook wellhead will be conducted for approximately two days in the coming weeks, weather permitting.

Company officials say the work is needed to ensure safety at the site and must be completed before the winter months.

A licensed well driller based in Elora will complete the safety upgrades.

Due to the artesian pressure of the well, it is likely some water be discharged for a short amount of time to conduct the work safely.

Both the Township of Centre Wellington and the Ministry of Environment, Conservations and Parks (MECP) have been advised.

“The wellhead is currently in poor condition given its history and age, (20+ years) much of the piping infrastructure and valves need to be replaced for the safety of the community,” stated  Jennifer Kerr, Nestlé Waters’ director of corporate affairs.

She added Nestlé is planning to have the work done before Christmas.
