BADENOCH – The first meeting of the Badenoch 4H Club was held Oct. 12 at the home of Joan Law.
They will study a new club called “Best of the Bakery”, and for their club name they chose “Badenoch Hard Workers”.
The leaders are Joan Law and Marion Hunter, with Florence Peer helping.
Members learned about the different varieties of flour and their uses: all-purpose, cake, pastry, whole wheat and rice.
They divided into two groups. One made pizza. The dough was difficult to roll out with the rolling pin , but the end result looked great. The second group made excellent blueberry muffins.
For a surprise for Joan Law also made a banana bread with nuts. They tested their etiquette knowledge with the etiquette game.
Second meeting
The second meeting of the Badenoch Hard Workers 4H Club met on Oct 19 at the home of Joan Law.
They elected officers as follows: President – Landon Robertson, Vice President – Abby Fraser, Secretary – Thandu Dube.
They learned how to accurately measure dry and wet ingredients. They used these skills to make chocolate chip cookies and dessert pizza.
They topped the pizza with a choice of banana, kiwi and raspberries.
