SHELTON, Norman Gerald

SHELTON, Norman Gerald – 82 eagerly slipped into the arms of his Shepherd, Jesus after leaving his cancerous, malfunctioning body behind. Death took place at Louise Marshall hospital in Mount Forest in the presence of his great friend Yvonne Jay, while family had stepped out to get a bite to eat. Norman was a dairy farmer for most of his life and his love of the land extended to gardening, both for food and beauty. He was born in Woodstock, Ontario and farmed in Holstein and Minto area. Generally known as Gerry, he was preceded in death by his son Peter Shelton, granddaughter Jessica Shelton and his stepdaughter Kimberly Toohey. Gerry is survived by his siblings Raymond Rogers of Woodstock, Carol Pye of Otterville and Ruth Beattie and her husband Bill of North Bay. He is also survived by his many children, Chuck Toohey and his wife Cathy Lyle, Dorothy Kock and her husband Paul, Pamela Shelton, Sandra Nelson and her husband Kurtis, Sherry Shelton and her partner Chad Brown, Paul Shelton and Diana, Chris Shelton and his wife Kelly, Michael Shelton, Jennifer Widmeyer and her husband Steve, and Crystal Shelton and her partner Terry Thunstrom and his many grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private internment for family only at a later date. A service was held at Clifford Community Hall in Clifford, Ontario, on October 20th at 2pm. Pastor Doug Bott officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and can made through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock ON.
