FAIRWEATHER, Dorothy Eleanor (nee Bridge) Passed away on August 4th, 2018 at Wellington Terrace. She was in her ninety first year. She was predeceased by her husband (Bill) of over sixty years, She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Bridge of Palmerston. She was predeceased by three brothers, Milton, Norman and Earl, three sisters Mina (Davies), Audrey (Wilson),and Mary (Brown), and two brothers in law Ivan (Fairweather),and Arthur (Fairweather). She is survived by three sisters in law, Florence (Milton Bridge),Shirley (Arthur Fairweather), and Margaret (Carl Hall). She will be missed by her immediate family, sons Ken (Michael Lyall), Jim (Janice) her two granddaughters Jenny, Karin (Fraser Brown) and her great grandson Atwood. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews. Dorothy and Bill operated Fairweather’s General Store and Post Office in Alma for over twenty years where they made many lifelong friends. They then moved to Elora where Dorothy worked in many retail businesses, finally retiring from Shoppers Drug Mart. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage River Retirement Residence for all the support they gave Mom during her years there, we would also like to thank the staff at Wellington Terrace for the excellent care and compassion that they showed Mom in her final months. Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 37 Church Street East in Elora, on Tuesday, August 14th, 2018 at 12:00pm, with visitation from 10:00am.
