CALDER, Alexander Campbell

CALDER, Alexander Campbell (May 12, 1944 – July 22, 2018) On Sunday July 22, 2018, with the support of his family and close friends Alec Calder of Fergus, Ontario died with dignity. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and the community. Predeceased by his parents Jane Calder (1915 – 2008) and Alistair Calder and his sister Heather Calder (1942 – 2011). Survived by his brother John and Kim Calder, nephews Ian Calder, Jeffery and Melissa Calder, and Erik Pedersen, and niece Kirsten Pedersen. Great uncle to Larissa and Evan Calder, Christian and Elora Calder, and Skye, Hayden and Harrison Pedersen. Alec has lived an accomplished and successful life. He attended Royal Military College and travelled globally as a helicopter pilot for his career. He built a house and farmed in Arthur, ON. Took up sailing in Steveston, B.C., and returned home to restore his family home and enjoy long walks with his dogs, Tippy and Uber. He was an active member at the Belwood Lake Sailing Club and The Fergus Horticultural Society and volunteered at the Elora Festival. He truly lived fully and with no regrets, a lesson we can all learn from. Family and friends will be celebrating his life at his annual corn roast in August.
