GREEN, Gwendoline Heath (nee Evans) – born December 22, 1926 in Folkestone, England – It is with very sad hearts that her family announce, after a long and full life, the peaceful passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gwen Green at Peoplecare Inc., Hilltop Manor, Cambridge, ON. on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Gwen will be reunited with her beloved husband, Lorne Wesley Green, whom she married on February. 3, 1945 and who predeceased her March 3, 1990, after 45 years of marriage. Loving mother to Carolyn (Don) Vaughan and Lorne (Gail) Green. Grandmother to Denise (Scott) Hamilton, Deborah (Mark) Olender, David Arbuckle, Patricia (Paul) Weigel & Lance Green, and great-grandmother to Shawn (Lisa) Arbuckle, Kyle (Candice) Olender, Olivia & Layla Arbuckle and Henry & Walter Weigel. Gwen came to Canada, a young war-bride in 1946, and took up residence in Arthur, ON, making her home a place filled with love, delicious food, laughter, warmth and happiness, making for life-long memories. Gwen was a Bell telephone operator in Arthur for eleven years before employment at Moore Business Forms in Fergus, ON where she retired in 1991 after 27 years of loyal service. Until the last few years, her memory defied description, and we all reveled in her memories and stories of her youth in England, and days gone by, told with detail and humour that never ceased to amaze us. Due to failing health, Gwen resided at Caressant Care in Arthur before moving to Peoplecare Inc., Hilltop Manor Cambridge in January 2017. The family will receive friends at Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur, on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service of Remembrance at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Spring internment at Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur, ON.
