BEATTY (nee Ross), Muriel Eleanor (Ellie) Passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter at Columbia Forest Long Term Care in Waterloo on Monday, January 29, 2018, at age 94. Dear mother of Tim Beatty (Kathryn) and Cheryl Bowes Carter (Brian Carter) of Waterloo. Special grandma to Angie Kehl (Jeff), Sarah Beatty, Shane Russell, Carrie Beatty (Jay Carnahan), and Jordan Bowes (Katie McKinnon). Remembered as “grandma with the bird” by great grandchildren Alex and Evelyn Kehl, and Julian Russell. Loving sister to Doris Jean Henderson of Listowel and her family. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Ontario, Alberta and Florida. Predeceased by her loving husband, Cecil Beatty (2007), with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, her brother, Alex Ross (2011), and many beloved family members and cherished friends. Thank you to Brenda Eckstein for her loving companionship to Eleanor during her residence at Columbia Forest. Eleanor was a creative person who always had a project on the go, whether it was sewing, knitting, drawing with charcoal and pencil, making crafts – especially butterflies – or painting with oil and watercolour. Thank you, Eleanor, for the legacy of beautiful creations and memories that generations will treasure. As per Eleanor and Cecil’s wishes, Eleanor will be buried with Cecil’s remains in a private family service at Holstein Cemetery where several generations of the Ross family rest. A celebration of life will be held in the spring and details will be announced in a later edition of the paper. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
