MORTLEY, Victor Charles

MORTLEY, Victor Charles. “Entered into eternal rest” On Friday January 13 at 3:30 pm, Charlie’s life here on earth came to a close. He died full of years and in the grace and knowledge of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His impact remains in the lives of those around Him. Loving Father of Paul (Elizabeth) of Regina, SK, Bevin (Brenda) of Arthur, Stephen of Virgil and Robert (Marcella) of Alma.  Grandfather to Calvin, Jessica, Philip and Ryan, David, Mark and Janessa, Colin, Carmen, Nigel and Enya.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Grace and dear grandson Andrew. Charlie was born December 9, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of the 16th of Peel (now Mapleton Township), Arthur, ON. As a young man he served his country, as a career farmer he served the public, as a faithful provider he served his family, and as an example of faith he served his Lord and the community at large. We thank God for his remarkable life. The family received friends and relatives at the Crawford Funeral Home, 243 George Street, Arthur on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The funeral service was held at Alma Bible Church, 59 Peel Street East, Alma on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. A reception and sharing of memories followed.  Remembrances to Men for Missions’ current project, Boisneuf Church, Haiti are greatly appreciated.
