SCHILL, John; Peacefully passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Betty (Grubb) Schill for almost 62 years. Loving father of Lorne (Wendy), Diane (the late Richard Dietrich – 2014), Jim (Carolyn), Rosemary (Frank Nibourg), Patricia (Mike Runstedler). Also lovingly remembered by his 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Step-brother of Ron Schill (Candy), and brother-in-law of Gerald Grubb (Shirley), Noreen Weber (the late Lorne), Geraldine Grubb (the late Clarence). Predeceased by his father Lawrence (1946), mother Rose Lunz (1935), stepmother Rachel Schmidt (1940), brother Lloyd, sister Rita Gleeson (Carl), father-in-law Otto Grubb and mother-in-law Ottilia (Hinsperger) Grubb. The family received their relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where parish prayers were offered at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Drive, Elmira Private family interment in St. Joseph’s RC Cemetery, Macton. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation – Cardiac Care would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
