BAYNE, Norman ‘Norm’. Long-time horseman Norman ‘Norm’ Bayne of Rodney, ON (formerly of Guelph, ON), passed away on March 12, 2016, in his 83rd year. Norm was involved in the standardbred horse racing industry for over 50 years, two of his favourites being Grand Patton and Fiesty Baron. Norm leaves behind his children Marjorie Jones (late Leonard), Larry Bayne, Donna Pringle, Linda Bayne (Bruce), Sharon Bayne (Victor); their mother Evelyn Bayne; six grandchildren and six great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Norm will also be sadly missed by his partner Edie Harefeld and her family, Kim Kaak (John), Brian Harefeld, Sharon Robinson (Gary) and her five grandchildren. Norm was predeceased by his parents Rutherford and Adelaide, and his brother Gerald and sister Jean Downs. There will be a grave-side service at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus, followed by a time of fellowship at a later date. A memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
