RICHARDSON, James Stuart. “Jim” passed away in the peace of his residence in Arthur surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, January 21, 2016, in his 73rd year following a battle with cancer. Beloved husband and soul mate of Donna (Black) Richardson for 50 years. Loving father of Tracey and her husband Steve Robertson of Listowel, Kerry Hoelscher and Jamie of West Montrose. Fondly remembered by Jeff Hoelscher. Cherished Papa of Karley and Holly Robertson; Klayton and Mitchell Hoelscher. Brother of Ken and Wendy Richardson of Belfountain, Bill Richardson and the late Jackie Richardson of Arthur and Barry and Dianne Richardson of Damascus.  Brother-in-law of Robert Black and his wife Jennifer of Hillsburgh, and the late Alan A. Black (2009) and his wife Wendy of Fergus. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Robin and Martha (Hall) Richardson, father-in-law Reg Black and mother-in-law Helen Black. Jim retired from the Upper Grand District School Board, the former Wellington County Board of Education, and Garafraxa, Luther, Arthur School Board, in May, 1998, following a career of 35 years as teacher, Arthur Public School, Vice-Principal, Arthur PS, Elora PS, Mount Forest PS, Minto Clifford PS and  as Principal of Harriston Sr. Public School. He was a skilled lacrosse player and referee and had the honour of being inducted into the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame, as a player and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a member of the Oshawa Green Gaels Jr. A Minto Lacrosse Champions. Following retirement, Jim’s love of family took him to almost all events his grandchildren were involved in, chaperoning school trips, filming horse shows, figure skating competitions, hockey and lacrosse games. The family received friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur, on Sunday, January 24, 2016  and on  Monday, January 25. The Funeral Service was held at the Alma Community Centre, 51 Simpson Street, Alma, on Tuesday, January 26 at 11 am followed by interment in Elora Cemetery.
