DARRINGTON, Monica Ruth (Robinson)

DARRINGTON, Monica Ruth (Robinson); It is with great sadness and heavy hearts Stacey (Dhana) & Heather (Russ) announce the passing of life of their mother Ruth Darrington on Friday August 7, 2015. She has gone to join the great love of her life, the late Les Darrington, in heavens gardens and fields. She will be greatly missed by all her family. Tears of sadness being shared by Granddaughter Monica and her husband Ryan and great-grandsons Owen and Braydon, as well as Grandson Jeremy and his wife Kristina and great-granddaughter Kyla. Predeceased by her parents Herb and Monica Robinson. Ruth was an incredible teacher who began her rural experiences in a one room school house at the bottom of the hill where she farmed side by side with her husband. Together they grew and educated their family. Ruth was also very active within the community and will be missed by friends and neighbours. Recently retired from the Wellington County Plowman’s Association, as well as the Ontario Plowman’s Association, aiding in the Queen of the furrow hosting and helping the girls go on to the IPM competition. She served in church her whole life, in the UCW, Couples Club, Friendship Club, coffee host, and dedicated to keeping the financial accounts every Sunday. Ruth volunteered at Groves hospital, and at the Wellington County Museum teaching several classes over the years. Ruth also led several 4-H clubs, 4-H exchanges, and became a 4-H leader. Ruth also helped her husband with his leadership roles in the Farm Safety Association, Wellington County Pork Producers, Ontario Pork Producers, Farm Labour Pool, and would help neighbours and friends alike whenever called upon, and still found time to host a ladies swim every Thursday until moving to town. Ruth enjoyed seeing the world and was an avid traveller with her husband Les by her side, and providing their children with first hand education of what North America was all about. Celebration of life to be held at the Wellington County Museum, Aboyne Hall, 0536 Wellington Rd. 18, Elora, Monday, August 24th, at 10:30am, followed by burial, and fellowship. In lieu of flowers donations to the Elora United Church Greenfund would be greatly appreciated, or the charity of your choice. Ruth fought a courageous battle with extreme health issues in the past 3 months and was determined to overcome the issues and return home to her family.

Tears have built a bridge and memories a lane, that took your walk up to heaven to be at peace with all those who are dearly missed.
