JOHNSTON, Paul Douglas

JOHNSTON, Paul Douglas. Passed away peacefully in his 54th year at his parents home in Salem. Beloved son of Robert and Hazel Johnston. Born in 1962 in Guelph General Hospital, home was R.R.# 1 Hillsburg until his family moved to Salem in 1966. He attended Salem Public School and Elora High School. Paul played hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and broom ball.  Paul was married to Sandra Pinchin and Glenda Murray. For the last several years he was with his cherished partner and love of his life, Cinda Geddes of Kelowna B.C.  Paul served in the armed forces having been stationed in New Brunswick and Alberta.  He moved out west in 1993 and enjoyed living in his cabin on Lake Wood B.C.  Paul started his own business, A-1 Cedar Roof Restoration and worked at that for several years as well as professional dry walling. Paul had a great love of the outdoors and especially his time spent fishing. He came home for a visit in the fall of 2014 and experienced several medical problems as a result of three severe accidents.  He enjoyed renewing old acquaintances and seeing friends and family again. Left to mourn Paul, are his daughters Krystal Vagg (Mark) and Jessica Livingston (Jeramiah) Remembered with love by 5 brothers, Bob (Kim), Brian, Bruce (Caroline), Murray (Cheryl), Ken (Lynn) and grandchildren Emry and Miah, Bensen and Alexa Vagg, predeceased by Faith Livingston. Sadly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a myriad of friends. Visitation with the family was held at the Elora Legion, Branch 229, 110 Metcalfe St, Elora on Tuesday April 21st from 11:00-1:00 Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Reception followed. Cremation has taken place, private interment at Elora cemetery.
