Doig, William George (Bill); Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital on June 1, 2014 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Brenda Doig (nee Hurlbut). Loving father of Gary Doig (Sandra Speller) and Lee-Anne Bresolin (Paul). Loved grandfather of Jack and Nathan Doig and Gabriel Bresolin. Dear brother of Mary Ellen Doig (Rick Johnston). Loved brother-in-law to Roy Hurlbut (Diane) of Hillsburgh and sister-in-law Donna Smillie (George) of Hamilton. Predeceased by his parents William (Bus) and Eva Doig, and infant sister Beverly. Bill will be missed by all, including nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Connelly and the nurses at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.Bill’s family received their friends and loved ones at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Wednesday. June 4th, 2-4pm and 7-9pm. There was a Legion service on Wednesday evening at 6:45pm. A funeral service was held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 5th at 11am.
