Hawkes, Martha Edna (McClure); August 16, 1924 – March 25, 2013 Mother of Donna (Bill) Prentice of Guelph and Darlene (Sandy) McPhedran of Rockwood. Mother-in-law of Cheryl Hawkes of Guelph. Predeceased by her husband Roy, son David and great-grandson Bryan Prentice. Beloved Granny of Tracy Prentice, Troy and Angie Prentice and Matthew and Daphne Hawkes, Michael Hawkes, Mark and Courtney McPhedran and Amy McPhedran. Edna had nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Survived by her brother Joseph (Marg) McClure of Simcoe and sister-in-law Glady (Andy) Lehman of Ariss. Cherished adopted mom of Wendy (Gary) Myers of Guelph. She is predeceased by her parents, Jim and Mary McClure, and six siblings. Edna was a long time employee of Hammonds Manufacturing. Sincere thank you to the staff and residents of Eden House Retirement Home and Dr. Hosdil for their loving care and friendship during her stay. Rested at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. .N., Guelph on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel immediately following at 2 p.m. Cremation to take place. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Community Torchlight – Distress Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
