Thomas, Alma (Sime); Suddenly after a short illness, at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, on December 30, 2009 in her 81st year. Alma will be greatly missed by her husband of 47 years, George Thomas. Loving mother of Andy and his wife Lisa and Owen and his wife Darielle. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Brianna and Liam. Alma is survived by her sister Shirley Fletcher (Roy) and family. Predeceased by her parents Bob & Pearl Sime. Alma was a proud member of the Reserve Navy and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Choir. Alma worked at the National Film Board, University of Guelph Chemistry Department and spent the last 43 years as a partner with her husband George at Fergus Welding. Alma enjoyed her summers at Belwood Lake. Friends were received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Saturday, January 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service was conducted from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 325 St. George St. West in Fergus, on Monday, January 4th, 2010 at 11am. Cremation followed the service. Family and friends enjoyed a time of fellowship in St. Andrew’s Church Hall following the service.
