Loughran, Dorene; Mrs. Dorene Carol (Bates) Loughran of Harriston passed away at Hamilton’s Hometown Retirement Living, Harriston, on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the age of 82. Dorene was the beloved wife of Neil Loughran; mother of David Loughran and his wife Ruth of Harriston, Chuck Loughran and his wife Barb of Mount Forest, Gary Loughran of Harriston, and Raymond Loughran and his wife Joan of Arthur; grandmother of Brenda Lee Laing, Bonnie Shantz, David Loughran, Brad Loughran, Bob Loughran, Tena Stortz, Shane Loughran, Eric Loughran, Nicholas Loughran, Jennifer Loughran, and Stephanie Loughran. She is also remembered by 22 great-grandchildren, and by her sisters Mary Lou Drumm of Harriston, and Charlene McLaughlan of Georgetown. Dorene was predeceased by her parents Charles and Gladys (Bieman) Bates, and by her infant brother Laverne. Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Friday, May 8th from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2pm. Rev. Mel Sauer officiated, with interment in Harriston Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
