McMinn, Elgin Gerald; Peacefully passed away in his 86th year, at Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, March 12, 2009. Elgin was the beloved husband of the late Flossie May (Barber) McMinn (2005). He was the loving father of Cheryl McMinn Brown and her husband James of Rockwood, Neil McMinn and his wife Jill of Turner Valley, Alberta, and the late Judy Sue (1968). Elgin was the dear grandfather of Michael Jansen (Sarah), Tracy Scott (Paul), Teegan McMinn, Thomas McMinn, Kent McMinn; and great grandfather of Rebekah, Steven and Melissa Jansen. Loving brother of Irma Crawford, the late Floyd (1964), and the late Waverley (1977). Brother-in-law of James Crawford, Bernice McMinn, Doris Greer, William Barber (Josephine) and Hector Barber. Elgin is survived by his aunt Gwen Hadley. He will be remembered always by his many nieces and nephews. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Rockwood Chapel, 117 Guelph St., Rockwood where the family received friends on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service has taken place at St. John’s Anglican Church, 112 Main St. Rockwood, on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 2pm, cremation followed.
