Clyne, Mr. Kenneth Harry; 73 years, of Nipigon, Ontario passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, September 8, 2008. Ken was born and raised in Harriston, Ontario and moved to Nipigon in 1960. Ken had worked for Domtar Forest Products and Norampac Red Rock as an Electrician. Apart from his job at the mill, many years and countless hours were spent working side jobs including being part owner of JCB Salvage – a wood salvaging operation. Ken retired from Norampac in 2000 and spent a lot of his retirement searching through his family tree and discovering countless relatives. He had many interests throughout his life. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge and enjoyed bowling, curling, hunting, fishing and being out at his camp at Deer Lake. As an avid hockey enthusiast, he spent many years as a coach for the Nipigon Elks Minor Hockey League. Even though he had moved away from the farming community, he maintained a passion for all farming equipment, especially tractors. His greatest passion was his family. He was extremely proud of all of his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Grace and Garner Clyne, by a brother Donald and a sister-in-law Lois Clyne; he is survived by three children, Beverly Clyne-Cote of Nipigon, Wayne (& Beth) Clyne and Carolynn Almos (& Michael Smart) both of Thunder Bay, Ontario; by seven grandchildren, Kimber Cote of Thunder Bay, Kyle at home (& their father Henry Cote), Cassandra, Chelsea, and Chris Clyne, Melissa and Mike Almos all of Thunder Bay; by his brother Harold of Harriston, Ontario and sister-in-law Eleanor Clyne of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive. According to Ken’s wishes cremation has taken place. His family has held a private celebration of his life. Interment of cremains will be held at a later date.
