Suddenly on Friday May 2, 2008 in Fergus. John D. McCabe of Fergus beloved husband of Shirley McCabe (Carter). Loving father of Judy Ecclestone, Greg McCabe (Kim) and Nancy Beattie (Keith) all of Fergus. Dearest grandfather of Laura, Emma, John, Nicole, Justine, Josh, Spencer, and Barbara. John is pre-deceased by his daughter Barbara Joan McCabe, parents Lloyd and Beatrice McCabe and infant brother Donald. John has been a long time member of the Fergus-Elora Rotary Club and in the traditional quiet manner of John, he has always supported any and all local endeavours and activities. The family received their friends at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 280 ST. DAVID ST. S. FERGUS from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Sunday May 4th. Funeral service was conducted on Monday May 5th, 2008 at 11:00am at Melville United Church, corner of St. Andrew St. and Tower St. Fergus. Rev Stephen Huntley officiated the service. An interment service was held at the Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus. Reception followed. Remembrances to the Melville United Church would be appreciated by the family.
