MASON, MAC (John MacLachlin); Inducted to the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1993. Following a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday April 22, 2008 at the Groves Hospital in Fergus. Mac Mason of Fergus age 57 years. Husband of Mary MacKenzie-Mason of Fergus. Father of Beckie Mason of Fergus. Loved step-father of James MacKenzie (Shawn) of Fergus, Dearest Grandpa of Avery, Sofie, Angus and Ellie. Dear brother of Barry Mason of Orangeville and Jamie Mason (Sandra) of Fergus. Dear uncle of Jeff Mason (Jennifer), Malinda Mason (Dwayne). Brother in law of Pat MacKenzie . Fondly remembered by many other family members and a host of friends. Mac is pre-deceased by his parents Hiram and Jean (MacLachlin) Mason, sister Gail Nicholson and nephew Brad. The family received their friends at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 280 ST. DAVID ST. S. FERGUS, from 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Thursday. A complete funeral service was held at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 325 St. George Street W. Fergus on Friday April 25, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Followed by Cremation. Rev David Whitecross officiated at the service.
