Krouse, Floyd; Floyd W. Krouse passed away surrounded by the love of his family at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Facility on Thursday, February 21, 2008.  Beloved husband of Helen (nee Meecham).  Dear father of Wayne and his wife Nancy of Fergus and Kim and his wife Jodi of Carstairs, Alberta.  He will be missed by his grandchildren Wendy Willmets (Robert), Megan and Jesse Krouse and great grandchildren Caleb, Connor and Faith Willmets.  Loved brother of Eileen and her husband Clifford Oakman.  Predeceased by his parents Fred and Margaret Krouse and by his good friend John Telfer.  Floyd co – owned Gord’s Taxi in  Fergus along with Gord Reid, then worked as a beekeeper in his own apiary and most latterly delivered mail in Fergus under contract to Canada Post.  This work entailed delivering mail to transfer boxes, collecting mail from street boxes and dealing with oversized parcels and C.O.D.’s.  Friends were received at the Thomson & Collins Funeral Home, 160 St. David Street North, Fergus.  The funeral service was held in the chapel on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 o’clock with Rev. Stephen Huntley officiating.  Wendy Willmets gave a eulogy in tribute to her grandfather and at the conclusion of the service, her husband Robert piped the casket from the chapel to Amazing Grace.  Active pallbearers were Wayne and Kim Krouse, Steve Oakman, Jamie Mason, Bill Hattle and Glen Lee.  Honorary pallbearers were Don Pryde, Dr. Grant Armstrong, Clifford Oakman, Gordon Montgomery and Mac Mason.  Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium, Waterloo.  A private family interment of cremated remains will be held later at Belsyde Cemetery.  Following the service, the family hosted a luncheon for those present at the Fellowship Hall of Melville United Church.  For those who wish, memorial donations to the Maple Ridge Neighborhood at Wellington Terrace would be appreciated by the family.
