Re: ‘Science not settled’ Henry Brunsveld is simply wrong and his advice dangerous. Fully 97% of climate scientists agree that climate change is real and that human activity is largely to blame. That’s about as settled as science gets. A similar percentage of scientists agree that cigarettes cause cancer. Would you recommend that your child smoke cigarettes because the science isn’t “settled” yet?
When it comes to climate change, there are only two alternatives. We can rely on wishful thinking, bury our heads in the sand and hope for the best while the effects of global warming worsen, or we can choose to act now to mitigate its worst effects. If we have any concern for the future, for the welfare of our children and grandchildren and of the planet, the choice must be obvious.
