I would like to echo some of the thoughts of Fred Morris’s letter to the editor in last weeks Advertiser. I agree the future needs creativity now, and we need to be brave enough to try some different ideas, but the priority must always be the health and happiness of it’s citizens. Let’s try this idea out: What if downtown Elora became pedestrian friendly? The car bridge in Elora would become a walking bridge, so no need for three bridges in a span of less than 200m. Wait. Before a “no” enters your head just sit with the idea. Go look at the space. Do some research. We just might be able to save money, attract more tourists, and make our spaces more conducive to healthy living. Remember, things are changing, and we have a great opportunity to make it beautiful.
