The photo of Blaire Bauman and one of her calves in the May 26’th edition was excellent. It showed a committed young farmer, and one of the temporary, individual housing units she uses to keep her calves healthy in the first few weeks of its life.
Of course, not everyone likes this sort of thing – Ruthanne Reeves’ Letter to the Editor certainly shows her disdain for it. Unfortunately, Reeves is either ignorant of what the picture actually shows, or is specifically ignoring facts to push her own agenda.
One would hope that, had Ruthanne taken the time to learn about Blaire Bauman and her family farm, she may have realized how ludicrous the claim of “animal abuse” actually is. Then again, if she does feel the need to criticize despite the facts, she could at least be dignified about her purpose.”
