I am surprised at some of the comments submitted around the pond in Hillsburgh. One of the critics has 9 ponds on his property and the tens of thousands of fish that he produces has more impact on the health of the Credit River than the Hillsburgh Pond.
From an economic development point of view, we need to recreate the economic base for our communities and the pond and the new library could become a focal point to help in the education of people about the natural environment and our place in it. Libraries are no longer warehouses of books, but an educational and creative resource for the community. All sorts of stories can be told here about our history, our environment and our world.
Save our pond, protect our history, preserve the environment and create our future.
