Dear Editors;
I am amazed at the ludicrous statements by Councillor Bulmer
regarding “ranked voting”. His mathematical assumptions are
preposterous ! Unless he has access to the completed ballots or the people who voted, he cannot make any observations other than the possibility of one person “ranking” the candidates. And does voting for less than 4 candidates constitute ranking? Again, totally presumptuous! As long as there are more than 4 candidates for the position of councilor, no, I mean no assumptions can be made. I always thought my vote, placed in the voting booth (tantamount to the sanctum sanctorum) was completely private. Do I need to wonder ?
